According to Plato’s dialogues Timaeus and Critias, a legendary island in the Atlantic Ocean west of Gibraltar, sank beneath the sea during an earthquake. The name Atlantis was probably derived from “Atlas”. Atlantis is sometimes imagined an utopia.
Its legend may have originated with the eruption around 1500 BC of a volcano on Thera, and it may not.
Explorers and romantics
Atlantis keeps being a subject of frequent speculation and imagination, tantalizing and exasperating explorers and romantics. The legend persists, and societies for the discovery of Atlantis remain active …
- Atlantis found in Cuba ~ Keep an eye open for breaking news concerning the underwater ruins off Cuba. I’m getting the word that the sunken city DOES INDEED EXIST. Atlantis found? Here’s what we have so far, but the story will be breaking bigtime in August, I hope, unless the status-quo Poohbahs try to stow it. This discovery will demand the most serious rewrite of history and current theory of human culture through time. Let us not allow this to get stuffed!
- New Atlantis ~ The Internet Wiretap edition of THE NEW ATLANTIS, by FRANCIS BACON. (Written in 1626.) From Ideal Commonwealths, P.F. Collier & Son, New
York. (c)1901 The Colonial Press, expired. Prepared by Kirk Crady from scanner output provided by Internet Wiretap. This book is in the public domain, released August 1993. The Wiretap edition has been changed to HTML format by William Uzgalis, July 1996.
Note by Nynke: Sir Francis Bacon expressed his masonic convictions in two books: Sapientia Veterum and New Atlantis. In New Atlantis, he describes a Utopia, used as foundation by many secret societies, including modern freemasonry. Ideal Commonwealths refers to America (US).
- New claim on location of Atlantis ~ American researchers claim to have found convincing evidence that locates the site of the lost kingdom of Atlantis off the coast of Cyprus. The team spent six days scanning the Mediterranean sea bed between Cyprus and Syria using sonar technology.
They believe they found evidence of massive, manmade structures beneath the ocean floor, including two straight, 2-km (1.25 mile) long walls on a hill. They say their discoveries match accounts of the city written by Plato.
- The lost continent finally found ~ We present, in these pages and in our recently released book, a novel theory on Atlantis that will, if accepted, cause a revolution in the fields of archaeology and the human sciences, rendering them fit for the encroaching Millennium. Atlantis was never found because we have all been looking in the wrong places. Realizing that, we started to look for the spot where an entire sunken continent could be hiding itself. Geology afforded the correct, irrefutable answer: down under the South China Sea, that is where. The rest followed quite naturally and, in fact, far more serendipitously than we ourselves could ever have imagined beforehand.
For the tantalizing details, just keep reading, and you will see that we have also found, as a surplus, the Garden of Eden, the Island of Avalon, the Garden of the Hesperides, the hideout of the New Jerusalem, the true location of Troy and of Lanka, as well as the Holy Land and Paradise that has been promised us all from the dawn of time. Yes, Atlantis is rising from the waves, bright as the Phoenix and clean and virginal as the Venus of Botticelli.
Atlantis in space …
“The men of old possessed all knowledge and had no use for it.”

Since the 1970s, man’s measures of the Earth and its Moon have achieved an almost incredible precision. This has been accomplished solely through the media of artificial satellites and radio telemetry. Such precise measurements simply cannot be made from the surface of the Earth. This book examines ancient metrological systems whose origins are lost in the mists of time. In the light of modern, space-age, measurements, some ancient units of measure can be seen to be based on equally precise determinations of the dimensions of Earth and Moon. Moreover, they can be seen to have been designed to carry this very message forward to that epoch when technology would yield such precision once again; our own time. Once the means of conveyance has been solidly established, connected material is shown to carry similar messages of prior knowledge of biochemistry and atomic structure. This book is about those messages.
